“I am the light of the world”, says the Lord; “whoever follows me will have light of life.” John 8:12

Dear friend, forgive me for my absence – I never stopped praying for you and would not have taken such a long absence if not for the very reason but that I contracted COVID-19. I battled it out here at home for one week but then it was necessary for me to be admitted to the hospital. My dear friend, God is so good, I was never afraid because I believed and felt that God would sustain me through it all. COVID takes so much out of you and I felt very little motivation to do almost anything, that is, anything but pray and trust in God. My dear family and friends were praying for me, some called me and even though I was basically alone, since no one was allowed to visit, I never felt alone. Oh true, I was very disappointed when the doctors told me I could go home one day sooner than expected but then changed their mind, for good reason. We always need to consider those ‘good reasons’ like why God wants us to love him unconditionally, to understand the trials and challenges we face and to trust Him that He will see us through it all – a very small cross to bear compared to the cross Christ bore for our sins.

I’ve added the link that I have been using to bring you the daily Readings for Lent. I hope you will use it to catch up or simply continue the beautiful readings during this season of Lent. https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/031421-YearB.cfm

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, have mercy on us. Light up our path that we may follow you and your truth. Protect us from the evil one and any temptation that will lead us away from your love. May all those who’s lives were taken this past year due to COVID rest in peace. God bless and sustain all those who care and treat patients with COVID-19. Please watch over all those in recovery and bless the family and friends of the victims and those recovering. Continue to show mercy on us and help us realize the error of our ways; to repent and to follow your light. We ask this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, Amen.

May God bless you and yours and keep you all in His loving care!

Peace, love and joy in Christ Jesus!
