‘Thy word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.’ Psalm 119:105

Dear friend,

In the past, whenever I was going through a difficult situation, I would run to the library or bookstore to buy the latest book on the topic of the problem in the hopes of finding some answers. Why not? I remember hearing it over and over again in school from grammar school on that you will “find the answer in the book”. Well, I trusted my educators and so, back then and for my whole adult life I would search for the answer in a book.

During one particularly difficult period in my life while going through a divorce, I felt in my heart that the answer was not found in just any old or current book but in the one true source of help, inspiration and hope, the Bible. The One who speaks to our hearts through the Bible is the One true source we must rely on. We can place our complete trust in God.

So, the next time you need answers, go to your Bible. Call upon the Holy Spirit to guide and counsel you now and all through your life especially during those difficult times.

You may find the answer(s) to your problem(s); to understand them and perhaps even solve them. But don’t despair if you don’t find your answer instead, rejoice in finding comfort, peace and hope that God has an amazing plan for your life.

Cast your burden[a] on the Lord,
    and he will sustain you;
He will never permit
    the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22

Remember, God wants what is best for you. You may not see it at first but eventually it will be revealed to you. Always remember that He is there to help you through your problem. You do not need to face them alone.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we don’t have all the answers so we must place our trust in you who are all knowing and loving.

Your Word is a ‘lamp unto our feet’ it is the One true source to help guide us and our lives and for us to grow in wisdom and grace. Help us to be right with you, to grow in righteousness by reading your Word and remaining ever faithful to you and its direction for our life.

Please be with the people of Ukraine and their battle for their freedom and the freedom of their country.

Be with those going through a divorce, inspire them to search out your Word and to know you are with them through it all.

We humbly ask this in the name of your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen

May God be with you and may He continue to protect and guide you and yours!

Peace, love, joy and thanksgiving in Christ Jesus, our Savior!
