Dear friend, In Sunday’s Gospel reading from St. Luke 24:35-48, Jesus appears to the disciples, “Peace be with you.” But they were frightened thinking they were seeing a ghost. Then, Jesus asked them “Why are you troubled? Why do questions arise in your hearts? Look at my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you can see I have.”
I’m sure it was a very scary and uncertain time for the disciples most likely because they were personally living out this amazing unprecedented story but we have the facts, we have the Bible and all the amazing events that took place after Jesus’ resurrection. We only need to open our hearts and minds to these facts; these truths and truly believe. In so doing especially during times of uncertainty we would never be troubled and our hearts would not doubt. My friend, completely trust in Jesus!
Prayer:
Loving Father, fill our heats and minds with the peace that comes from knowing that you are all knowing, all powerful and all loving. Help us to follow Your Word, your Truth and to forever trust that you are always with us. We humbly ask this in your son’s name, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen!
May God bless you and yours and keep you all in His loving care!
Peace, love and joy in our Risen Lord!
