Be humble and pray….

2 Chronicles 7:14

‘…..if then my people, upon whom my name has been pronounced, humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and turn from their evil ways, I will hear them from heaven and pardon their sins and heal their land.”

Dear friends,

We are in a time of great uncertainty and unless you are a Christian who truly believes in the certainty of God and God’s righteousness you may be floundering.

In the Life Application Study Bible copyright 2011 and the commentary on 2 Chronicles 7:14 the commentators write that “in Chapter 6 Solomon asked God to make provisions for the people when they sinned. God answered with four conditions for forgiveness: (1) humble yourself by admitting your sins, (2) pray to God asking for forgiveness, (3) seek God continually, and (4) turn from sinful behavior. True repentance is more than talk – it is a changed behavior. Whether we sin individually, as a group, or as a nation, following these steps will lead to forgiveness. God will answer our earnest prayers.’

Believe and trust that you are not alone; that God loves you and cares for you. He is waiting for you to reach out to Him, to seek His face, ask His forgiveness and humble yourself so that He pardon you of your sins. Let us work together at this that God may heal our land.

I personally have sought God’s face, humbled myself, turned away from sin and now, I have become one of many who are God’s soles on the ground and a presence over the internet to reach out to you my friend to bring you the comforting news that ‘…Christ is the end of the law for the justification (righteousness) of everyone who has faith.’ Romans 10:4

So forget your fears, have faith and believe you are precious in His sight and that He loves you!

Additional Bible verse for this week:

2 Timothy 2:22 ‘…shun youthful passions and aim at righteousness, faith, love, and peace along with those who call upon the Lord from a pure heart.’

Our prayer for the week:

Dear Father, have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, help us be strong and upright in our faith. There is so much pain and suffering in our world, especially today, and people feel imprisoned because of it – instill in us a pure heart; a heart filled with your great love and peace that we may demonstrate that love and bring your peace to those searching for truth, your Truth the Truth that will set them free and help them understand the power of your righteousness. We humbly ask this in your Son’s name. Amen
