In Genesis 18: 20-33, Abraham, trusting in God’s mercy, pleads with God to spare the righteous individuals in the city of Sodom and Gomorrah.
I can’t help but wonder how close our world compares to Sodom and Gomorrah? And yet, I believe God is merciful and willing to give us time to mend our ways, to ask forgiveness and make things right. Perhaps this pandemic we are enduring is giving us that time to reflect on our lives; to change things for the better so that we become truly worthy of God’s mercy and love.
Dear friend, please, sit quietly, close your eyes and reflect on the things you might change in order to create a better world for yourself, your family and your friends. Ask God to give you the wisdom and strength to bring this about so that if God were to search for a righteous person to aid in saving our world from destruction He would find that righteous person in you.
Additional Bible verses for the week:
Proverbs 1: 1-7
1 The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel:
Prologue
2 That men may know wisdom and instruction,
understand words of insight,
3 receive instruction in wise dealing,
righteousness, justice, and equity;
4 that prudence may be given to the simple,
knowledge and discretion to the youth—
5 the wise man also may hear and increase in learning,
and the man of understanding acquire skill,
6 to understand a proverb and a figure,
the words of the wise and their riddles.
7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Prayer for the week:
Heavenly Father, fill me with your wisdom and strength and guide me as I live out this week. Help me to be a righteousness example and to set that example for my family, my friends and especially for strangers. We are all in this world to help one another seek your righteousness and to obey your Commandments. Help us to be strong for we are up against much sin and much evil but we believe, that with you oh Lord, all things are possible when we hold fast to our faith in you. We humbly ask this through, Christ our Lord, Amen
Until next week, may God bless you and yours and keep you safe!
BIG HUGS and many blessings go with you!
